    Multi-Media Presentation - Riders on the Orphan Train

    Location: Alvin Senior Center, 309 W. Sealy, Alvin, Texas 77511
    Time: 2:00 p.m.
    Sponsored by the Alvin Museum Society and the Alvin Library League

    This one hour presentation, Riders on the Orphan Train, tells the story of the 250,000 orphans and unwanted children who were put on trains in New York between 1854 and 1929 and sent all over the United States to be given away. Approximately 5,000 of these children wound up in Texas.
    The presentation is comprised on original music, an audio-visual delivery of archival photographs, and interviews with two surviving orphan train riders.
